The ingredient list is pretty simple - Oreos, big and mini - (I've tried generic cookies, and they fall apart too easily, so spring for the name brand on this), googly candy eyes, candy corns, and a tube of red frosting (which you'll be using soon for Christmas anyway, so it's worth the investment). Keep in mind you *can* use frosting to make the eyes if you don't have any candy eyes available, but as you can see in the pic below, they come out a little rough. The kiddos probably don't care, but the perfectionist in me prefers the better eyeballs. :)
The how-to: push 5 candy corns into the middle of the Oreo (if your candy corns are super thick, you may need to pull apart the Oreos, then close them back together with a dab of frosting) - attached the googly candy eyes with a small frosting dot, along with the broken bottom of a candy corn for the beak. Add a little red "gobble" (pretty sure that's the scientific term for it, right??) and you're all set!
Want to take this cookie plate up a notch? You can also add these cute little acorn cookies as well, they are also super easy!
Happy Thanksgiving!!!
(Author Note: Don't you dare expect a post from me on Friday - yeah, it's kind of my typical posting day... But like 89.5 million other people, I'll be out shopping - so no time for blogging. But I'll be back next week! :)
