For example, here in Indiana, there's a place called The Exotic Feline Rescue Center - they actually hold a party every year on the first Saturday after Halloween (that would be tomorrow!) and they give their beautiful lions and tigers old jack-o-lanterns full of meat! How fun is that?! It's very stimulating for the animals and a great way to use something that would otherwise be garbage.
Even if you're planning on keeping up your uncarved pumpkins and such until after Thanksgiving (I get it, your porch looks lovely!) - they're still good for animal consumption after that! They are good for a few months (as long as they aren't punctured in any way of course) so you can still donate them if you're waiting to get rid of them until after Thanksgiving.
So please, make a fuzzy friend happy - look up some local animal rescues, zoos, or farms in your area to see who can use your fall décor... Many of them are happy to accept your free fall food! :)
