We also served my usual go-to party foods - meatballs, mac n' cheese, cowboy beans, Hawaiian sliders, etc - but obviously the pig foods were so much more fun to make. Every year I love carving a themed watermelon - this year was actually easy (compared to priors years of carving cats, superheroes, and that Brobee guy from Yo Gabba Gabba, lol). You literally just carve the top out of a watermelon, hollow it out (I like a melon baller for that so you can easily put the bite-sized melon pieces back in) and then carve out a nose, ears, and feet with the top chunk of your watermelon. We used blueberries for the eyes/nostrils and secured everything with toothpicks - easy peasy (and a huge hit with the kids)!
The desserts were a little more challenging for me (I am NOT a baker, lol - which is VERY obvious by these pictures - but they all tasted good, so I suppose in the end that counts for something):
Activities for the party - we painted nails and decorated piggy banks!
And of course one quick shot from the last pig party I threw, for the actual pig himself - here's Kevin Bacon at his 1 year old party (don't worry, my animal parties don't include nearly the amount of junk food as my human kid parties do, lol). Looking forward to his second birthday in exactly 2 months! Stay tuned for that! :)
