Meet Kevin:
One more pic (looks like he's handsome enough to even make the Christmas card!):
I know this may seem a little crazy, but I've been called worse - I got a pig. Yep - a house pig, no less. He's a Juliana pig, which means full grown he should be around 35 pounds (unless all the horror stories I read on the internet are true, in which case he could be 150 pounds - but let's hope random internet strangers are less correct than the breeder I got him from. :) Meet Kevin: Pretty darn cute, right? How can you not love that face?! He's cuter than most children I know. Now obviously people are politely asking me "why on earth would you get a pig?" They are surprisingly amazing pets. They don't shed, they're hypoallergenic, they potty in a litter box (so you don't have to let them out non-stop like a puppy, or in the dead of winter!) and they are SO much fun. Many people are surprised to know they are the 4th smartest animal, even above dogs! So soon he will be learning tricks too. And he's very fond of snuggling - which is a bonus! They do eat pig food pellets, but nutritious human food is also good for them - at only 6 weeks old, he's already had some yogurt, edamame, lettuce, celery and even Saturday morning pancakes (a well-loved staple in our house). Next we'll introduce oatmeal and beans. They absolutely LOVE blankets - their favorite thing to do is root through piles of blankets laying around the house. Easy entertainment! One more pic (looks like he's handsome enough to even make the Christmas card!): So yeah, a little unconventional, but that sums me up in a way... I actually grew up raising pigs for 4-H (I will not tell Kevin that I actually ate those pigs :) and they are such loyal, sweet animals. I am definitely looking forward to this new adventure! Surely there will be more pics to come! :)

AuthorI love writing romance novels, editing other people's novels, planning parties (heavy on the theme food!) and watching movies. Cooking has also become a passion of mine (because you can't have a proper party without food!) and I love finding new hobbies when I can squeeze them in. Archives
