This is such a fun idea to do while the kiddos are all home for holiday break - host a gingerbread house party! I must say, we are very spoiled as a friend of mine does this every year, and she actually bakes all of the gingerbread houses herself AND has them all put together before all the kids arrive! Each kid gets their own house to decorate, along with their own bag of frosting. Wait til you see the candy table -- it's kind of insane: Yes - that is a legit candy table, right?! Each kid gets to load up their plate with candy, then they get to start decorating. My OCD tends to take over and I'm "suggesting" what they should do to their house to make it beautiful, but both of my kids decided this year that they didn't need any of my advice. :) Here's the finished product! They had so much fun using their little creative brains (and sampling LOTS of candy along the way) and they were so proud of their creations! And then of course within 2 hours there was already a noticeable amount of candy missing from them every time I turned my back. :) Here are some of the other houses that were made: Beautiful, right? And so much fun for this time of year! So if you're looking for a fun/festive party for the littles, give this a try! Just make sure you have excess frosting, patience, and an available broom/vacuum for the 26,000 sprinkles/nerds/M&Ms you will find under your table when the party's over. :)

AuthorI love writing romance novels, editing other people's novels, planning parties (heavy on the theme food!) and watching movies. Cooking has also become a passion of mine (because you can't have a proper party without food!) and I love finding new hobbies when I can squeeze them in. Archives
