But when it comes to packing clothes for a trip, I'm kind of a genius. I'm only bragging because it's true. I have been fortunate enough to travel a lot, but the rule growing up was everyone gets ONE bag and you have to carry it. That's one bag if you're gone for a weekend, and that same bag if you're traveling overseas for 2 weeks. So I've learned how to make it work.
Now that I have kids however, that's a whole different ballgame - they need so much STUFF. And then a couple extra outfits on top of that because you KNOW they are going to get filthy and wet at some point. I swear my kids can get soaked from one quick slurp from a drinking fountain. It's incredible. And then the dirt just sticks to the wetness. Bleh.
Every year we go on a camping trip for the weekend (yay, even MORE opportunity for them to get dirty and wet!) - but our car is packed so tight with tents, tarps, coolers, etc, so of course there isn't a lot of room for luggage. So, we have the "clothes tote."
Here's the secret:
Here's a better indication of the size of this tote:
So for your next vacation with the kiddos (or even to try yourself with your own clothes!) - remember 2 important things: bag and roll! :)
