Although the weather is getting warmer, it's not quite summer yet... Which is why I loved the idea of an indoor beach party! My eleven year old niece planned the party herself (mainly via Pinterest) and it was ADORABLE. First, the invite was - - a beach ball. That's right, I opened up the package and there was just a beach ball inside. Once we blew it up, we realized all of the party details were written with a sharpie on the ball! My kids really loved that. Here are some of the awesome food highlights from the party! I was so thrilled to be asked to help out with these adorable sandwiches! How cute are those?! Chicken salad in croissants - the eyeballs were all glued onto toothpicks ahead of time and were stuck in the sandwiches once they were filled. Here are some of the other gems from the food line up: Amazing, right?! (And remember, an eleven year old picked all of these out! I love when kids get involved in party planning! :) The watermelon carving does require an adult (we've also carved them to look like cats, characters from Yo Gabba Gabba, etc - it's not complicated per se, but you are working with a sharp knife, and I'm just not a fan of kids with sharp things...:) Then there were the decorations, which were also adorable! All of the tables were covered with a blue table cloth and a fish net. For the sand - it's actually just brown sugar! And the seashells are actually chocolate molds - so yes, you can eat them! Edible centerpieces!! (Told you this party was awesome!! :)

AuthorI love writing romance novels, editing other people's novels, planning parties (heavy on the theme food!) and watching movies. Cooking has also become a passion of mine (because you can't have a proper party without food!) and I love finding new hobbies when I can squeeze them in. Archives
