Thanksgiving is less than 2 weeks away! (Scary reminder, right?!) Our family does all the traditional good stuff - turkey with gravy, mashed potatoes, sweet potato casserole, green bean casserole, pumpkin pie, etc. But I always like to make something "theme-ish" for every holiday too in case you haven't noticed. :) Cookie Turkeys!! These are so much fun to make with the kiddos - and pretty easy too! All you need are big Oreos and mini Oreos, candy corn, candy eyeballs, a little chocolate frosting, and a small tube of red icing. To start, gently slide 5 candy corns into the "top" of your big Oreo - if your candy corns are fat, you may need to separate the Oreo and put some extra frosting in there to make them stick - just be gentle so you don't break the Oreos! Then use a dab of frosting to attach your small Oreo and your candy eyeballs. Dab a little on the broken candy corn for the nose, and put a small red frosting streak on the side. Boom! Cookie Turkey! (The kids will LOVE eating these!) Now the acorn tutorial - all you need for these are Hershey kisses, mini chocolate chips, mini Nutter Butters, and a little chocolate frosting. Start by splitting your mini Nutter Butters in half - spread on a little chocolate frosting and adhere a Hershey kiss to it. Then gently spread a dot of frosting on a mini chocolate chip and stick it on top. Boom! Within seconds you have a cute little fall acorn to garnish up your dessert plate!

AuthorI love writing romance novels, editing other people's novels, planning parties (heavy on the theme food!) and watching movies. Cooking has also become a passion of mine (because you can't have a proper party without food!) and I love finding new hobbies when I can squeeze them in. Archives
