Have your kids cut out multiple sets of bunny ears (or if you're a control freak like me, do them yourself so they are symmetrical and give the kiddos a different project... :) - tape them to a toothpick. Lay out your donuts and decide what you want to use for the faces - I love the candy eyes, but you can also use candy (like M&Ms) or even frosting if that's what you have available! Put a piece of candy in the center of the donut - I like using Mike & Ikes for these because they fit perfectly (and you can color coordinate them for boy bunnies and girl bunnies - always a hit in my house, but gender neutral bunnies are equally awesome!) and then draw on a mouth. Put the toothpick ears in the donuts and poof! Easter Bunny Donuts! Just make sure to have the little ones take out the toothpicks before they bite into them. Last time we made these the kiddos wanted to use the ears for their paper drink cups - we taped them onto the white cups and used a cotton ball for a tail, and then they each drew a bunny face of the cup! They were so cute! (And of course in the midst of preparing a holiday meal, I didn't take a pic! Gah!!)
Have some fun with these! Enjoy your Easter!!! :)
