Happy Retirement Dad!!!
Now I know this seems really off topic during the holiday season, but my father has finally decided to retire! What a huge milestone for someone. I wanted to make him something personal/handmade, so here's what I came up with. Now that he's retired, he has all these "things" he wants to do, like live in Southern France for 1 month, travel to Halifax, etc. So I made a little bucket list board for him! I saw a few on Pinterest but as usual, they looked a little too complicated for me (chicken wire? I'm an author, not a magician - I couldn't pull it off...) So I pieced something together that was easier/less complicated, but still serves it's purpose. I found the wooden board from Hobby Lobby (and saw tons of other cool items you could use - frames, memo boards, etc - but I liked this one because the wood colors looked kind of rustic to go with my parents' house). Here are the supplies I used: See, not too complicated! I found some really cute clothespin clips, chipboard letters, glue dots and 3 tiny little buckets - I actually wanted just one small to mid-sized bucket, but I couldn't find one anywhere so I improvised with these. I stuck everything on with the glue dots and here's how it turned out: I was quite excited about this! I grabbed some cute cardstock and did fill in a few of the clips with some of the things I know he wants to do, but also left some blank that he can fill in on his own (and yes, maybe I put "take your daughter to an all-inclusive resort" on there... :) Then once he completes the bucket list item, he can throw it in one of the buckets (to save and look through later). The whole project only took 1 trip to Hobby Lobby, $22 in supplies, and about 15 minutes to complete - and of course has the priceless sentiment of a sweet homemade, personalized gift which I'm a fan of. :)
Happy Retirement Dad!!!
