This one was recommended to me by TBConFB - a group of very wise people who never let me down (unless they're making fun of me for lusting after British serial killers hiding their faces with pastry vs. the notion that a balaclava is really a ski mask and something real bad is about to happen).
Ever get the feeling you're being watched all the time, even in your own house? Yep, me too.
All right, let's get to it - my review of No Safe Home:
This is a great fast-paced read without a single dull moment. The characters are well developed as you learn about their personal stories, but you also get intimate details into the lives of the law enforcement dealing with their crime scenes. As a mom with young children, I love the notion that your home should always be a safe place - mixed in with the creepy reality that maybe you're not always alone (I was already hooked from the prologue). This book has a nice mix of emotions - love for the bond between a mother and her child - mixed in with terror when you think about the fact that a mother can only do so much to protect them from the rest of the world, especially from the past.
This was my first book from Tara Lyons, but certainly won't be my last. I loved the writing style and momentum of the book. The story had a great flow and kept me interested throughout. All around a solid read.
